Many people in Arkansas want to join a PTA in Arkansas, but they may not live in a part of the state that has a local PTA unit. This is especially true for out of town dignitaries and state level politicians. Therefore, Arkansas PTA has created an active PTA unit called the “Diamond State PTA”. This PTA unit is considered more of a state level PTA unit. It’s not associated one specific school or city. Please consider joining the state level Diamond State PTA.
WHO CAN BE A MEMBER?
Anyone; it’s simply a way to be a member of Arkansas PTA and National PTA. You can even be a member if you are already a member of your school’s PTA.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Five dollars ($5.00) is all it takes, but the Diamond State PTA will gladly take donations in addition to the five dollar membership fee.
WILL I GET A MEMBERSHIP CARD?
You bet; membership in the Diamond State PTA is like your local PTA membership. You can attend conventions as a member, and create a National PTA profile to access instruction and tools as well as the various discounts offered by National PTA.
WHAT HAPPENS TO THE MEMBERSHIP DUES COLLECTED?
Like any other local unit membership in PTA, $3.25 goes to National PTA. Arkansas PTA contributes the remaining $1.75 to the Arkansas PTA Scholarship Fund. In fact, Arkansas PTA contributes an additional $3.25 for your membership so that your entire $5.00 membership goes directly into the Arkansas PTA Scholarship Fund.
WHAT IS THE ARKANSAS PTA SCHOLARSHIP FUND?
This is a special fund set up by Arkansas PTA to fund scholarships that are given annually to graduating seniors, parents returning to college to join the education field and for certified teachers to do their graduate work. You can donate directly to the Arkansas PTA Scholarship Fund to support our students.
HOW DO I GET A MEMBERSHIP?
Memberships to the Diamond State PTA are sold through our MemberHub store. Your card will be delivered electronically to the email address that you use to sign up. The Diamond State PTA President is always collecting Diamond State PTA memberships, especially at state PTA events like Summer Leadership and the state convention. ALL FUNDS COLLECTED FROM DIAMOND STATE PTA MEMBERSHIPS ARE APPLIED TO THE ARKANSAS PTA SCHOLARSHIP FUND.
